Beta terms

The short version: Akyonis is free while it is in beta. It may change and it may break, and we will tell you when it does. Your data is yours: we only use it to run Akyonis for you, and you can take it with you or have it deleted whenever you want.

Who you are agreeing with

Akyonis is run by Celia Felipe, in the Netherlands. Contact: privacy@akyonis.com.

What the beta is

  • Akyonis is free during the beta. When paid plans start, we will tell you the price at least 30 days before, and you choose whether to stay. Nothing is charged automatically.
  • It is still being built. Features will change, some will be added, some may go. We will tell you about changes that affect how you work.
  • Things can go wrong. We fix problems as fast as we can, but we cannot promise Akyonis will always be available or free of mistakes. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose, especially invoices.
  • Kino, the assistant, can misunderstand. It always shows you what it is about to do and waits for you to confirm, so check before you say yes.

What we ask of you

  • You use Akyonis for your own dog training business.
  • You only add clients’ details that you are allowed to keep, and you tell your clients that you use Akyonis (a line in your booking form or terms is enough).
  • You keep your sign-in to yourself.
  • You do not try to break Akyonis, reach other trainers’ data, or use it for anything illegal.

Your clients’ data

You decide what client data you keep and why. Akyonis stores and handles it for you, following your instructions, which are the way you use the app. In legal terms, you are the controller and Akyonis is the processor. In practice, that means:

  1. We only use it to run Akyonis for you. We never sell it, use it for advertising, or use it for anything else.
  2. We only look at it when we need to, that is, when you ask for help or to fix a problem that affects your account. We keep it confidential.
  3. We keep it secure. It is stored in the European Union, encrypted when it travels, and separated from other trainers’ data.
  4. We use a few other services to run Akyonis. They are listed on the privacy page, with what each one does and where. They are bound by the same duties. If we start using a new company that handles your clients’ data, we add it to that list and let you know, and you can leave if you object.
  5. If something goes wrong, we tell you. If your clients’ data is lost, leaked or reached by someone who should not have it, we tell you within 48 hours of finding out, with what we know, so you can decide what to tell your clients.
  6. We help you answer your clients. If a client asks you to see, correct or delete their details, you can do most of it in Akyonis. For anything you cannot, we help.
  7. When you leave, it goes. We give you a copy of your data if you want one and delete it within 30 days. Backups are gone 30 days after that.
  8. You can check. If you want to know how we look after your clients’ data, ask, and we will answer honestly and in writing.

Ending

You can stop using Akyonis at any time: tell us and we delete your account as above. We can end the beta for you, or for everyone, with at least 30 days’ notice and time to export your data, unless you have broken these terms in a serious way.

Responsibility

Akyonis is free and still being built, so we are not responsible for lost income or other indirect losses caused by using it, as far as the law allows. Nothing here limits what we are responsible for by law, such as acting deliberately or with gross negligence.

Changes and law

If we change these terms, we tell you by email at least 30 days before. If you keep using Akyonis after that, the new terms apply. Dutch law applies to these terms.
